Accidents and medical emergencies can happen at any time or place! This course covers the basics of First Aid and prepares participants to respond to medical emergencies and care for injuries and heat and cold related emergencies. Participants will learn how to administer an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPentm), control bleeding, splint wounds and provide basic first aid care including how to care for someone who is choking. Participants will learn via a mix of videos, discussion and hands-on skills practice. The goal of this course is that students will leave feeling more confident in their ability to respond in a medical emergency and provide emergency care until EMS personnel arrive and take over. Course will be taught by experienced EMTs. Course fee includes 2 year certification from the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) as well as access to a digital student textbook.
