Be prepared! This course covers the basics of First Aid and CPR/AED for adults, children and infants and will teach you the critical skills needed to save a life. You will learn how to recognize an emergency, activate EMS, provide CPR, use an AED, help someone who is choking and care for a variety of sudden injuries and illnesses such as bleeding, broken bones, allergic reactions, seizures and heat/cold related emergencies. Participants will learn via a mix of videos, discussion and hands-on skills practice. The goal of this course is that students will leave feeling more confident in their ability to respond in a medical emergency and provide emergency care until EMS personnel arrive and take over. Course will be taught by experienced EMTs. Course fee includes 2 year certification from the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) as well as access to a digital student textbook.
**Please note that this course does NOT meet requirements for allied healthcare providers and students seeking entrance into allied healthcare programs. Professional rescuers and Healthcare Providers (RN, EMT, MD, etc.) should take our BLS for Healthcare Providers course.
